We ship our Fresh/Frozen seafood by UPS 2 Day Air or Overnight from our main facility in Ferndale, WA. All of our Hawaiian & Alaskan Seafood is shipped to us from our Hawaii & Alaska facilities by air freight for final processing. This lowers the overall carbon footprint and shortens the trip to your door by over 2500 miles! Since there is No Overnight UPS or FedEx Shipping from either Alaska or Hawaii to the lower 48 states, our Overnight shipping from Ferndale WA is actually Overnight and you can save money by selecting 2 Day Air Shipping for most items.
Our shipping calculator is directly linked to UPS and you receive a shipping cost that includes the substantial discount we receive as a volume shipper. Fresh/Frozen Seafood can be shipped by 2 Day Air to most locations. If it is very hot where you live, and you are ordering Crab or Lobster, please consider overnight shipping.
Shipping Days: We ship UPS 2 Day Air Monday thu Wednesday, Overnight Monday thru Thursday. Saturday Delivery is available for an additional charge. This is not built into the freight calculator so you must call us Toll Free @ 1-800-980-2435 for this service. 2 Day Air orders received on Wednesdays will typically ship the next Monday. Many Hawiian Fish orders not in stock will not ship until the following Monday as the Fish arrive by Air Cargo on Thursday Mornings. Once again, if you need something right away, call us!
2 Day Air Shipping may cause the seafood to arrive partially thawed. This is NOT a problem! Our "Once Frozen Fresh" Seafood arrives in single or two portion vacuum sealed pouches. Simply put them in your freezer! There will be no percieved quality or taste difference should they partially thaw in transit.
We are confident that we utilize the best and most environmentally friendly packaging technology in the industry. Your Fresh/Frozen Seafood is packaged in a Cardboard Box, Insulated Styro Liner, Foil Bubble Thermal Barrier & Poly Liner. We use pillow Phase Change Modules (gel packs) around your seafood to keep it cold. The Phase Change Modules are frozen to -15F. This replaces & eliminates the "carbon footprint" of dry ice (frozen carbon dioxide) from your shipment.
Getting the best deal on shipping:
Fresh Frozen Fish: A 5lb fish order will ship as 10lbs with the box & gel ice pillows. A 10lb fish order will ship as 15lbs. Both order sizes ship in the same shipping box. The second 5lbs typically ships for half the cost or less than the first 5lbs! In all cases, as the order size increases in weight, the shipping cost per pound drops significantly!
Dungeness & King Crab: These items are "bulkier" and reqiure more refrigerent to ship. Ordering larger sizes will still save you money. The box size changes with each order size. Mixing Crab & Fish will also save you money on shipping.
Canned Seafood, Smoked Seafood & Seafood Accessories can be shipped USPS Priority Mail. We have adjusted the weights on many items to offer you lower shipping by using Priority Mail Boxes.
