Thanks for your interest in Wild Ocean Seafoods.
Over 114 years ago M. Kildall and his son Simon of Lynden WA fish in the FV Effort, a small boat with a 44,000ft of netting as a shiftable trap with a capacity of 10,000 Salmon. Five boats were used to convey the fish to the canneries.
In 1894, Pacific Northwest & Alaska residents enjoyed fresh Salmon in season, or we ate canned salmon along with everybody else out of season. Today, the descendants of those pioneering fishermen continue the family tradition. Utilizing state of the art processing techniques, we are among the leaders in supporting environmentally sustainable fisheries.
Our Fresh Frozen Fish and Crab products are caught in the wild by American Fishers, in American Fishing Boats, and processed in the United States of America. Our processing is vertically integrated to ensure that the seafood products we offer have minimal handling and transit time from ocean to finished product.
Fresh or Fresh Frozen? "Fresh Fish", when referring to any wild catch means "recently caught". With many purveyors, the fresh fish is off loaded from the fishing vessel and taken to a refrigerated warehouse, then packed for shipment. Many times, this fresh fish has already been aboard the fishing vessel on ice for several days. By the time some of these fish reach their destination, they may be over one week old! We are confident that our "Once Frozen Fresh" Seafood products are fresher than "fresh fish" from most suppliers. Processing the fish immediately provides you with a product that is, for all practical purposes, only hours old!
We include the packaging cost in the price of each item, reducing your "shipping cost". You pay only for the shipped weight, service and destination. Our shipping containers & frozen gel packs are re-usable. We do not use dry ice to ship our products.
Continuing our families heritage of over 114 years of Commercial Fishing, We are dedicated providing the best in Wild Seafood to your door at the most competitive prices available .
